I wrote these lyrics high on opiates while living in Kent in 2014. I realized I was becoming a zombie and was reflecting on watching other zombies in in Kent two years earlier. I realized I wasn't sure if I became one or not. A lot of the imagery is from spending time in Kent in 2012.
I pray that those who were sick in 2012 are healed now or healing.
Also the music is very Mountain Goats inspired.
lyrics
Leeches
The vultures are moving closer
And the cops are creeping ‘cross the street
This isn’t paranoia
This is something worse
I don’t have a heart to leave
Leeches linger in the living room
For the crumbs they found on the floor
Crawling alongside the dead
Remember afternoons we spent
Sleeping in the graveyard
Take to the sky
Believe in old lies
Oh my, my
Let us fall into the sky
Believe in old lies
We’re caught between two lives
